I believe that a good pair of hiking socks form an integral part of enjoying yourself on the trail and that is why I invested in a pair of Darn Tough Socks.
Now, I’m all for Australian products, particularly if they are made in Australia, but every so often an international product is so good it becomes too hard to ignore.
That is the case here with these Darn Tough Socks.
Made in Vermont in the USA, Darn Tough Socks are suitable for not only hiking and trekking but running, cycling, hunting and everyday use.
The ones I purchased are the Hiker Boot Sock Cushion and have been absolutely fantastic.
Without being able to field test them before my 10-day hike in New Zealand at the end of 2015, I was forced to test them during this trek.
Taking into consideration that my friends and I were hiking 25-30 kilometres a day, they held up remarkably well with very few blisters.
Made up of a combination of merino wool, nylon, and lycra spandex (63%, 34% and 3% respectively), these socks are a snug fit that are also breathable, comfortable, and fast drying.
Furthermore, they will keep your feet cool in hot conditions, warm in colder conditions, and are antimicrobial which means they will repel bacteria and odour.
In no way, shape or form did Darn Tough pay me for this review. I am merely bringing exposure to a product that I believe, and in turn providing you value at the same time.
