Xiaomi Power Bank

Xiaomi Power Bank

In no way, shape or form was I paid by Mushtato or any company for this post. I just think it’s an awesome product that I see enormous value in for a number of reasons.

Whilst you would think getting into the outdoors would be a great way to escape technology, unfortunately, it does follow you in the form of items such as apps and power banks to name a few.

One piece of technology I take with me on most of my hikes is my Xiaomi Power Bank.

Xiaomi Power Bank

This power bank is an absolute beast and charges items such as your phone in record time. Furthermore, it is compatible with phone brands such as Apple, Samsung, HTC, Google and Blackberry (if you still have one!).

With multiple USB output ports, it allows you to charge multiple items at once thus positioning itself, in my opinion, as a must-have piece of equipment when on the trail.

The charger input is a Micro USB and the charger cord itself has a USB output which can easily be plugged into one of the iPhone chargers etc.

Another cool little feature is that there is a built-in safety fuse that will automatically cut off the power when extreme conditions are detected.

I’m not too sure how it goes charging an iPad or other smartphones, but it can charge my iPhone 6s about 5 times before it needs recharging itself.

The Downsides?

The only downsides, if you can actually them downsides, is that the Xiaomi Power Bank weighs 350g which is somewhat heavy compared to other compact power banks.

Also, to recharge the power bank itself takes about 9 hours, but given the upsides previously mentioned, the downsides are hardly going to stop you buying one.

  1. Hey John
I’ve had one of these for a couple of years now- I’m not sure how long you’ve had yours for- so if I may, I’d like to throw in my $2 worth.

First: The mAh rating is true. You get- and can extract- the full 16,000 capacity. That’s a huge plus.
Second: The unit holds full power for months after being charged, if you don’t use it. That’s good too- because some of these power packs deplete rapidly. Not this one.
Third: The construction of this unit- with the rounded corners- means it’s not gonna pierce your dry bags.
Fourth: This power pack gives great performance under cold conditions- as in below zero for many days.

Your site is great. I found it after following a link from Snowy’s, which a mate emailed me.
If you ever need assistance with one-way car shuttles / shuffles in Vic, let me know.
The Falls to Hotham is a great walk here- it can easily be combined with a walk spanning Mt Bogong, done over 7 days.
Keep it up, I’ve bookmarked, and wish you every success.

      Hey Pete,

Thanks for reaching out and taking the time to read my article. I genuinely appreciate it.

The charger is an amazing piece of gear, hey?! I’m always so surprised at how quickly it charges my phone and how it performs in extreme conditions at either end of the scale.

I really appreciate your feedback regarding the website and will definitely take you up on your offer.

If there is anything I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
