My name is John Feeney and if you are reading this I would like to officially welcome you to The Hiking Society.
This hiking blog exists to provide you with the most up-to-date information and tips on hiking and camping, as well as showcasing the many trails and camp spots that exist in Australia.
I truly believe that everyone should experience hiking and camping at least once in their life.
It was during 2014 when I started it, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it ever since.
If running or the gym isn’t your thing, then hiking is a great alternative.
At the very least, it’s a low-impact form of exercise and you get to see some cool things along the way.
However, there are many variables as to why people don’t participate, particularly those who might be wanting to try it for the first time.
The goal for this hiking blog is to not only arm you with all the right information to get you out on the trail but also to assist you in hiking and camping more efficiently.
The content produced on this hiking blog is designed for hikers and campers of varying levels of experience.
In short, I like to think that there is something here for everyone!
You can email me with questions or feedback at any time at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Finally, and most importantly, I would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands through which I hike, camp and live, and pay my respects to Elders past and present.
