The Hiking Society is proud to be partnering with Rob Embury of Pale Blue Dot Photography and Explore Photography to bring you this basic photography day adventure.
Rob is very much an accomplished photographer through his own work, producing incredible outdoor photography that includes scenic landscapes, wildlife and storm chasing adventures through Tornado Alley in the USA. He is also a photography tutor and guide for Explore Photography, where he’s able to run skills-based workshops and photography tours both locally and internationally.
Jump in the back of our Toyota HiAce as we take you down to stunning Marysville in the stunning Yarra Valley, where Rob will guide you through the necessary basics to help take your photos from good to great. We’ll visit picturesque locations such as Keppel Falls, Taggerty Cascades, Dom Dom Saddle and the Black Spur.
During the day you’ll learn essential skills, tips and techniques including:
You don’t even need a DSLR camera to enjoy this workshop – if you have one, great, but Rob will also be teaching you how to take amazing images using just your smartphone.
We’d also recommend that you download the app “Snapseed” to assist with editing for social media.
We deem this hike to be a Grade Three hike in accordance with the Australian Walking Track Grading System which refers to a track that “is recommended for people with some bushwalking experience”
